Mark R. McQueen, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mark has worked in the financial services industry since 1993. He has led Wellington's growth from its inception as a $7 million fund in 2000 to its current $450 million investment program ($150 million fund size). He was a Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking of Orion Securities (now Macquarie Capital Markets) from January 2000 until December 2004, when he joined Wellington Financial on a full-time basis. Prior to January 2000, he was part of a team that advised on over $25 billion in transactions as a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions group at a BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. Mark received credit training at Bank of Montreal and was certified for commercial lending in 1995. Prior to 1993, he worked as an executive assistant and advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. He was educated at The University of Western Ontario (1988). At the present time he serves as Chairman of the Toronto Port Authority, a member of the Governing Council of Sunnybrook Hospital and is a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA). Mark is a former Governor of the University of Western Ontario and is a past director of several public and private companies and community organizations. Currently Mark is also a member of the Globe and Mail's advisory business panel for Business Incubator .


Kenneth B. Rotman, Chairman

Ken is Co-Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Clairvest Group Inc. (CVG:TSX), a Toronto based $400 million merchant bank which focuses primarily on consolidation and value investments of $10-25 million. Mr. Rotman has worked at Clairvest since 1994, was promoted to Co-President in 1999 and to Co-C.E.O. in 2000 at which time he became a director of the corporation. During his tenure at Clairvest, he has overseen $306 million of long term private equity investments in 23 different companies and the realization of $310 million from the same portfolio. He has been personally involved in investments in the electronic security, cable television, textile manufacturing, home medical equipment, auto parts and the bottled water industries. Prior to joining Clairvest, Mr. Rotman spent just under three years in New York at E. M. Warburg, Pincus & Co. principally focusing on private equity investments in media and communications transactions in North America and the United Kingdom. He earned a B.A. from Tufts University in 1988, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics in 1989 and a M.B.A. from New York University in 1991. Mr. Rotman is currently a Director of Clairvest Group, Van Rob Stampings, NRI Industries, Landauer Metropolitan, WarrenShepell, Allied International Credit, Nexient, Integral Orthopedics (OBUS FORME), and the Canadian Opera Company.


Mark Usher, Partner

Mark's career began in 1988 at Royal Bank. He joined RBC's Commercial Banking Group in 1993, and his roles have included marketing and strategy in the bank's head office, and senior account manager in the bank's high tech banking group. Mark then was recruited by Cisco Systems in 2000 to join Cisco Capital's structured finance team in Toronto where he financed the sales of Cisco equipment and services to sub-investment grade customers using a combination of debt and equity structures. Geographic responsibilities for financings included Canada and the US Eastern Seaboard. Mark returned to Royal Bank in 2001 to lead the bank's Information Technology Banking team in the Greater Toronto Area. In Mark's last role at RBC, he was the executive responsible for RBC's entire Knowledge Based Industries practice in the Ontario marketplace in addition to the Toronto Tech Banking Group. Mark has his MBA from Queen's University and is involved in a number of technology associations.


Kul Mani, Senior Vice-President

As a Vice-President, Kul is focused on sourcing, structuring, negotiating, executing and monitoring Wellington investments. Prior to joining Wellington, Kul worked as a technology investment banker at a leading independent investment bank for over 4 years where he was involved in more than 25 closed lead financings and merger/advisory assignments for both public and private companies in Canada. He has also worked on majority of Wellington Financial's transactions including Basis100, MKS, Meikle Automation, TM Bioscience, Necho Systems, etc. Prior to 1998, Kul worked as a senior software engineer at Nortel Networks and IBM Microelectronics (Canada) where he focused on the research & development of various computing, communication and networking technologies. Kul earned his Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering (Electrical) in 1994 from the University of Toronto and Masters of Business Administration in 2000 from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.


Craig Netterfield, Vice-President

Prior to joining Wellington in 2005, Craig worked at a mid-market financial advisory firm providing merger, acquisition advisory and business planning services. Previously, he was a Regional Director of an investment management advisory firm (1999-2003) and held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility at Xerox Canada (1991-99). He earned his Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) degree from The University of Waterloo (1991). Craig earned his Masters of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Ivey School of Business (2005) and was awarded the Ivey Scholar for academic excellence. Craig is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Young Venture Capitalists (YVC) Committee.


Eric Speer, Vice-President

As a Vice-President, Eric is based in California, overseeing Wellington Financial’s transaction sourcing and business development activities in the Western region of the United States. He joined Wellington 2009 with more than 20 years of experience in banking and asset based lending. Eric was previously with Vencore Capital as a venture debt lender providing financing to early-stage and emerging companies. Prior to Vencore Capital, Eric financed emerging growth companies in positions he held with Coast Business Credit and Bank of America. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley and has an MBA from University of California, Irvine.


Jason Nardari, Investment Manager

Jason has been associated with Wellington since 2003; following his role as a technology investment banker at an independent investment bank from 2001-2002. Previously, Jason was involved with the advancement of numerous technology-based initiatives in both Undergraduate and MBA programs at the School of Business at Queen's University. Jason earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University in 2001 and is an academic Medalist. Jason earned a Masters in Public Administration from Queen's University (2005).


Amy Olah, Marketing Manager

Amy has been associated with Wellington Financial LP since 2000. Her role as Marketing Manager is to interface with the professional services, advisory and venture capital communities on behalf of Wellington. In addition, Amy contributes to the financial, administrative and support matters relating to Fund II and III and is responsible for the advertising and brand development for Wellington Financial LP. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG Toronto), the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and Woman in Capital Markets (WCM). Amy earned her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Guelph in 1999.


Emma Fisher, Business Developer

Prior to joining Wellington Financial in 2009, Emma worked at Export Development Canada (EDC) where she contributed to business development efforts within the Mining and Oil & Gas sector. Emma graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in 2007.


Lyndsey Fisk-Calhoun, Executive Assistant

Prior to joining Wellington Financial in 2009, Lyndsey worked as a liaison at a corporate communications firm. Lyndsey brings with her a background in communications and client relations. Currently, Lyndsey provides administrative support to the President and CEO and contributes to the daily success of the Wellington Financial team. Lyndsey graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a B.A. in the spring of 2007.
