Our clients have found that Wellington Financial provides the following value proposition to partners:

  • Access to timely capital - We finance mid to later stage companies across most growth sectors - some of these companies may not have sufficient positive cash flows to access traditional debt, and in certain cases, attractively priced equity may be temporarily inaccessible given the state of the company or the public/private equity markets.

  • Faster time to close - In our previous transactions, we have taken less than 4 weeks from a signed term sheet to closing a transaction. The ability to close very quickly addresses any short-term need for capital, if applicable.

  • Lower Cost of Capital / Dilution - In most cases, the after-tax cost of capital of our financing is far lower than the cost of raising pure equity and should significantly reduce potential dilution to existing shareholders of the company.

  • Minimal intrusion - As lenders, we do not intend to play the role of traditional venture capitalists, nor do we impose stringent operating restrictions typically found in bank operating lines or term debt.

  • Follow-on Financings - By syndicating some of our opportunities, we may bring private equity or passive institutional investors to the table that would otherwise not "step in to the breach". These funds could serve as the lead investor on a follow-on equity or debt financing, if requested.

  • Extensive Experience & Investment Banking/Venture Capital Relationships - Our experienced team has been involved in over $27 billion of transactions in Canada, United States and Australia. Our advisory council consists of a deep and varied group of talented and accomplished individuals including CEOs of leading Canadian growth companies.
