Playoff Win at Calusal Pines

Playoff win at Calusal Pines

Designed by Dr. Michael Hurzdon and Dana Fry on the highest evaluation in south west Florida, lies the masterpiece of Calusal Pines. Having attracted members such as Rocco Mediate and Paul Azinger you know that this place has some fire power .

The two day pro am attracts amateurs and professionals across United States and Canada played over two days , with course conditions impeccable and green speeds faster than PGA tour average .

Lets face it , its not a PGA tour event but the satisfaction of playing in this event for the second time and winning at both attempts has left a great feeling in my belly!  Having last played at Sawgrass in November , it had been a couple of weeks since I picked up a club, knowing that I had my work cut out to compete I had to prepare myself for the difficult green sites and green speeds around 13 on the stimp meter . Approaching the final day I had positioned myself six shots behind the leader; who was sitting a -1 under par; I had to play a flawless round.

Entering the back nine I was at 4 over par for the tournament with only nine holes remaining, making birdies on 11, bogied 12 and followed with birdies on 13,14,16 and eagling a short par 4 17th left me in a playoff for the win . ( 76, 67)

I truly believe that my daily goals allowed me to win this event;  pre shot routines, breathing techniques, ability to recall success and having  the mindset  of accepting  bad shots, which allowed me to hit great ones !

Cheers and Merry Christmas!
