Via Rail Cup
20 June 2009Wow! What an incredible week at the Montreal Country Club, unfortunately we came so close to capturing the Via Rail trophy . The hole week was an endurance test playing 6 rounds in four days with a combination of temperatures in the 80’s and steady rain for the entire day Thursday.
Playing in any team event the chemistry must be complementary and it showed for the first 4 matches, we were never down in a match after the first hole except for the final round , having chances to square the match on the 4th, 5th and giving the Quebec’s opponents a gift on the 6th and 8th hole put us 4 down and behind the eight ball with only 11 holes remaining . After birdies on the 10, 11, 15 and 16 put us 2 down with 3 to play but we failed to convert birdie on the 16th to extend the match.
Taking the positives from this match event will definitely show up in the upcoming Ontario PGA Championship and the Canadian Open next month
