Ember sells 10 millionth chip
4 May 2010
Wellington Fund III portfolio company Ember announced today that is now the first company to ship more than 10,000,000 ZigBee wireless chips. Press release is here.
If you’re not familiar with them, ZigBee chips sit in smart meters and home automation and security systems. They’re low power and let devices communicate data wirelessly. They form the network that will make the smart gird work in your house.
You can find ZigBee chips in your power meter, smart thermostat (think Toronto’s ecobee) and RF controlled home theater system (think Control 4).
Ember has been on a tear. Bob LeFort (CEO) also announced that Ember is well positioned for almost 300% revenue growth this year.
Congrats to Bob and the team.
Craig.
