RIM Bold launching at Rogers very soon
12 August 2008According to sources, the Rogers Communications (RCI-B:TSX) team is being trained on the new BlackBerry Bold right now, which suggests that we have to wait just another two weeks to get our first look. The good people of Chile and Germany seem to have beat us locals to the punch. (How would you like the job of deciding which global carriers get which new products first? Not me.)
Sadly, our favourite CEOs are sticking to their front mouse strategy, and the side trackwheel seems destined for the dustbin on future models (see prior post “RIM Makes History” February 13-07). Perhaps there’s a white collar worker enterprise handset in the offing, but I’m losing hope.
In a fit of bad timing, my 8700 called it quits on Sunday. Antenna no longer wants to talk to the tower. SOS! How appropriate.
Two weeks. Can I go cold turkey for two weeks? What to do, what to do.

(disclosure - I own RIM and RCI.A)

According to latest rumours/blogs, August 21st (this Thursday) seems to be the date for Canadian launch. We’ve heard that before, but hopefully true this time. Only a few more days to go.
And yes, the trackwheel is better.
