The Money Chase – Sources of Early Stage Financing – January 24 in Markham, Ontario
15 January 2008
Following yesterday’s theme and posting on the Do’s and Don’ts of Raising Capital we wanted to make those of you in the Greater Toronto Marketplace aware of a unique event focused on helping early stage (including pre-revenue ) companies obtain financing called “The Money Chase 2008″.
This half day forum is focused on supporting entrepreneurs looking to acquire detailed insights into the financing options available to early stage growth companies, including investments, loans and government programs. New and experienced entrepreneurs will learn how and when to access these various types of financing.
Speakers will include senior representatives from leading private and government investment organizations. We are pleased to have been asked to speak @ this forum on the topic of setting yourself up for future financings, as most growth companies require a number of various types of financings over its life cycle. Although most if not all of the companies attending the Money Chase will probably too early stage in term of meeting our investment criteria here @ Wellington Financial, supporting the early stage ecosystem is something we feel is important and we participate whenever we can. Every successful company started with an entrepreneur’s idea, vision and passion, and if we can support these entrepreneurs as they begin their journey, then we are all better off – Canada needs more RIMs!
If you are in the GTA and beginning your journey and whole “finance thing” looks to be a scary or confusing exercise, then take the half day to join us on the 24th, it should be worth your while.
Kudos to the folks @ the Innovation and Synergy Centre for putting together what looks to be an excellent forum.
