Has upticking returned to the TSX? part 2

4 September 2007

This is a follow-up to a post from last weekend (see “Has upticking returned to the TSX?“, Sept 3-07). Month end was last Friday. A few stocks move up very well on modest volume. Let’s see how the featured stocks performed today, now that the August figures have been put to bed:

Atlantis Systems (AIQ) up 12.5% on 81k shares traded on Friday; down 8.9% today on 3.5k shares traded

Coventree (COF) up 12.5% on 142k shares traded on Friday; down 4.4% today on 28k shares

Digital Dispatch (DD) up 17% on 1k shares traded on Friday; down 7.3% today on less than 5k shares

Qustream (QVC) up 24% on 6k shares traded on Friday; down 8% today on less than 5k shares traded

Syscan International (SYA) up 19% on 90k shares traded on Friday; up another 10.5% today on 20k shares

Interesting reaction by four of the five stocks in question. Particularly with the TSX up more than a hundred points, and the NASDAQ closing higher for the 4th consecutive day. But does it warrant the attention of Market Surveillance at Regulation Services?
