Barron’s reads blogs

19 March 2007

I never thought we’d be writing that headline, at least not in relation to our own blog. But there you go; Barron’s has discovered our modest effort at a backwater blog and while we thought the point was worth making, apparently Barron’s (Pg. 8, March 17/07) found it interesting as well. As Andy Nulman would say: that’s a POW! of a surprise. All thanks to Seeking Alpha, a global market site that asked us to become a contributor last week. Seeking Alpha (they are the nicest ppl btw) has 300,000 subscribers each day, which is almost 50% more than the National Pest and about on par with Canada’s own National Newspaper, The Globe & Mail. And they just got going in 2004. Not the 1800s. The dead tree media really have to redefine themselves, don’t they?!

Thanks to Barron’s for our 15mm of fame. Time to hang up our blogging skates, perhaps?
